Addiction is running rampant in our society and leaving behind shattered lives and broken spirits. It is a family disease; while one person is afflicted by his/her addiction, the whole family and community, not just the user suffers. Many times, we want to get help for ourselves or our loved ones, but feel that it is a hopeless situation and we do not know where to turn. If this sounds familiar, perhaps you would be interested in coming together for an hour to talk about what you can do. Our parish drug addictions support group gathers in the meeting room of Saint Peter Church hall from 7 to 8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month. This group is facilitated by a parishioner who has long-term personal and professional experience both with active addiction, recovery and resources in the community. If you would like to know more about this group, please feel free to contact Carol at 412.535.2771.
